Inasmuch as Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness week is the end of
April, I would like to submit my site for publication on net4tv.com.
I am a heart transplant recipient survivor since 7/29/89. Six months
after getting my webtv plus in May, 1999, I started to make my first web
page on pagebuilder. It is called Iris At Home and it introduces me as
a long term survivor, and my family (by photo albums). It is a very
inspirational upbeat website and links to Iris' Transplant Story,
Philosophical Favorites, My Retirement Activities (including photos of a
t-shirt fashion show).
As a result of my website's exposure, I have heard from many viewers who
have decided to sign an organ donor card if they hadn't already done so.
I would appreciate your reviewing my website and if you think it has
merit, please include it in one of your future editions.
I agree that this is very important. Check with the Department of Motor Vehicles the next time you get your Drivers' License renewed. Many states allow you to designate yourself as an organ and tissue donor in the event you are killed in an accident. The print it right on the license. I signed up for it too.

After I received the 2.6 upgrade, all the realaudio streams I played
sounded choppy. I retrograded back to 2.5.5, which fixed the problem.
If I accept the 2.6 again, am I likely to have the realaudio problem
again?
Joseph Geaney
Yes, you probably will until they release a fix for the 2.6 update.

This tip was given to me by an engineer who works for webtv. If you get the
message "page is to big" do the following. Shut off your webtv box.
Hit the options button about 4 or 5 times ...then put in numbers 32768
and the box (I have Sony) will go red, yellow, green on and off. Then
turn on the webbox. That may or may not work for everyone, but it did
work for me.
I also
found a trick when the typing of an email seems to get stuck. Hit the
return key and the typing will then work!. Thanks for your newsletter.

Note: Pushing 32768 essentially resets the box. Your box will have to dial the toll-free number to get a local dial-up number. It's not a big deal, but you should know.

i have heard alot of negative about the upgrade therefore i am afraid to
accept it....a friend of mine said she lost all of her favorites and
pics she had online...and i have ALOT of pics and "keepsakes" and i dont
want to lose them!! and have also been told that webtv cannot handle
this ... that you keep adding things and not getting rid of other
things..so it therefore is too much for webtv to handle....have you had
any problems with people losing pics and other items they have saved??
please let me know and thank you ......Missy :)~:~

Some readers have reported this, but after they called WebTV, the items returned. Still, it is always a good idea to keep things you treasure in multiple places, although this can be a pain to do.

Question: i have a rca rw2110 webtv plus.
will the escanner work with this unit or is there problems with this one
too?
TPT62
Yes it should work. But we have had a reader or two tell us it fried their RCA Plus. We haven't confirmed it ourselves.

Hey net4tv.com, I have question. With all the problems that web tv has
been going through, should I sitll keep this system or should I get rid
of it for good. I have webtv plus and I was looking forward to see movie
trailers, listening to many radio stations and see video images on
nba.com. but this webtv system isn't doing that and webtv custumer
service isn't helping out the situation. Will webtv get any better or
getting worse. Thank you for reading my letter and please continue to
update the latest news regarding webtv.

Keeping or ditching WebTV is a personal choice. Personally, I use both. Each has its advantages. My WebTV is easier to use and I can use it from my couch. My Apple Macintosh is far more powerful than WebTV and can do everything WebTV can't. Is the Mac better than WebTV? For the most part , of course. But it also costs several times as much and is harder to learn, but not all that hard. PCs are similar.

Hi Folks, I'd like to know what % of webtv users are also pc users.
And conversely what % of pc users also are webtv users. I believe
webtv and the pc complement each other.
For me the webtv is infinitely
more comfortable to use. With it, I can reach about
80 to 85% of the internet. When I reach a
problem on the webtv, I send a link by email
to my computer. On the pc I can reach an
additional 10% . I love to be able to reach
this 85 to 95%. I just accept that I cannot
reach 5% of the internet. (bad links, mistakes,
etc.) To me this seems like a natural combination. I wonder what % of
webtv users
use this combination

The story of the St. Bernard dogs being used for meat by the Asians
might be true. I just read about this in the "People For The Ethnic
Treatment Of Animals" (PETA) magazine. Asian breeders are raising these
dogs to sell to restaurants that specialize in dog dishes because a lot
of meat can be obtained from these large dogs.
It is a fact that the Asians consider dog meat a delicacy and do eat it.
Investigators have seen firsthand the horrible conditions that the dogs
are raised in. The dogs are hung from a tree a beat while they are
alive. The Asians claim this tenderizes the meat.
The Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese, and others from that part of the world
have a history of horrible abuses towards animals and using their body
parts for strange "medicines". Tigers are on the endangered list
because of their irrational beliefs.
I know internet petitions are not valid. I do believe the world needs
to know about and try to stop these countries from committing the
atrocities to animals that they do. I guess you can expect this from
people that don't treat humans much better.

Thanks for your information on the e-scanner...I purchased my back in
Jan...I don't use it much...but when I first got it ,it worked...today
it does not work..I am receiving no video signal....i guess after a few
months of it being plugged into my RCA rw2110 webtv plus it must have
fried it...I am calling hp in the morning to see what they will do
about it..I have a few days left under warranty...thank you again..

Do you think that they will ever get the scanner for webtv plus, mine is
the RCA brand, fixed? Please let me know. And are there any other
scanners that will work with webtv?
~Ann
There are no other scanners that will work at this time. Nor have any been announced. As for the workings of HP and WebTV, they seem to work in their own time. Neither has shown any interest in resolving the situation anytime soon, despite our numerous inquiries.

Response on e-scanner. I have an RCA plus but had difficulty with my
e-scanner. I had to get a replacement scanner but have been afraid to
try it in light of all these complaints.
