Fixing the Printer Color Problem

Several newsgroups contain postings that the problem's been fixed, but a
number of posters say their printers won't print color. One poster has
noted that if you turn off ALL printer settings, you CAN indeed print
color.
I took the retrograde because of this printer problem (I have an HP 670
TV) and I may not bother to switch back to the upgrade because
I find my webtv is faster with the retrograde than with the upgrade --
and I can live comfortably without IM.
It seems to me that if Bruce Leak can write letters to all webtv users,
that the company could have written email to all users when this bug
originated, instead of forcing their customer service reps to lie, evade
or ignore the question whenever a customer phoned go-webtv about printer
failure.
TucsonDude Hi,
I just wanted to let you know about a temporary remedy to one of the
current bugs on WebTV.
I read the story about the printer problems happening lately and
realized when I tried to print out a colorful greeting card that the bug
had bitten me too.
Even after changing my printing options to NOT print the text in black,
my card printed out in black and white.
So...I tricked my printer by UNchecking the "black cartridge installed"
option.
Voila`..I got one bright beautiful greeting card.
I hope this little trick will help other frustrated printer users.
Thanks,
Shari Cappotto
