Better Homes: September Spotlight
By RainSong
(September 10, 2000)
This issue's Better Homes take you on tour -- of a site in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day (Sept. 15, 2000); a small peaceful "garden" blooming with inspiration; a Cajun home with recipes, jokes and a whole lot more; and a page from and about Hawaii from a guy who traded snow for sand.
Drew's POW/MIA page
September 15th has been designated by the Federal Government as the day for Americans to remember the POW's/MIA's from all wars. This site is dedicated to all who served. There is a message board for those looking for a lost friend or loved one and links to numerous other POW/MIA sites on the Internet.
Welcome to MingLing's Garden Inspiration
Here is a small "garden" tucked into a corner of the Internet, just waiting for you to discover it. It is full of gentle, inspirational thoughts to help brighten your day or ease your load. Visit frequently for a few refreshing moments to leave you in a peaceful mood.
Pat's Place
Cajun recipes (how about Jambalaya with chicken or sausage or shrimp or ham or duck or alligator), Cajun music (crank up the volume and kick off your shoes), Cajun jokes (you know it's hot when your mother-in-law....), and everything you ever wanted to know about Mardi Gras.
Tropical Tim's Waikiki
A statement from Tim's site says it all: "Seven years ago I got tired of just visiting Hawaii, so I decided to move here. I left my snow shovel and ice scraper behind in Colorado, and set off for the land of Aloha, exchanging pine trees for palm trees, and snow for sand." Wonder if he has a guest room?
