Upgrade Printer Problems

By Net4TV Voice Staff
(June 18, 2000)

Some of the printers will need new drivers to be written before they'll work with the upgrade. These are some of the printers that users report having problems.

I would like to know when Webtv is going to fix the printer problem. After receiving the upgrade my printer ( BJC210 ) stopped working and has not worked since. I think I will think long and hard before I except the next upgrade, I do like the new upgrade but not at the cost of my printer. What is being done?

i have new classic and my bjc-2000 prints. the back buttoni complained about to wni and they say change batteries but that doesn't stop from a page going back many pages, before upgrade it mostly went back to original page. and javascript pages sometimes load very poorly.

I am just one of many who are disappointed because I cannot use my Canon BJC 210 Printer with my new Sony INT-W250 Web tv. I am 67 yearsold, on a fixed income and cannot afford a computer. Please, give me some hope that this problem can be corrected.

I have tried everything that I have found to try to get my HP DeskJet 610C printer, that is on the compatible list for webtv to work on my PM New Classic MT965A since I received the upgrade. I still get Ink Cartridge not found. I have asked the HP people they say it's WebTV since the self-tester works perfect. I call WebTV and keep getting cutoff. I emailed WebTV and get back you have to use a compatible printer which I am. I have unhooked everything and put it back together again. I have unplugged it for 30 mintues and plugged back in still get the same msg: Ink Cartridge Not Found. I really need my printer to work. I even bought new Ink Cartridges. I have seen others with the same printer in new groups having the same problem. Please help me. Thank You in Advance, Pam Goodwin

I have a Canon BJC 250 and it won't print since the upgrade. I wonder what excuse Webtv will use about this. Take care,

You can add the HP670C to the list of printers that will no longer work since the upgrade! Here I sit, with my brand new printer, and I can do absolutely nothing with it....nothing....nada...zip. Thank you, WebTV.....

i just got the upgrade and now my canon bjc 4100 won't print...get an identify printer note...then getting images...then printing...goes through image and says printing page 1 of 2 etc and scans(?) and appears to be printing, but the printer doesn't budge..green light flashes...notified them....now waiting...frustrating...yes - ink and paper ok.......thankyou for your continued service...you are always a great help...tg

In the past, when printing for the first time in a session, I would press the print keys on my Classic Webtv and then go to turn on the printer.

Since the upgrade, the above procedure produces the message that the HP printer that I have been using for three years is not supported!

Turning the printer on first eliminates this problem. A minor thing, albeit annoying.

They are killing all the older Canon printers, the BJC-200's series and BJC-4000's series won't work after upgrading. Not one post from a older Canon user with a working printer in the printerhelp group. Some new ones don't work either BJC-2100.
