How to Write on Images

This is a basic introductory lesson to writing on images. It's not all you need to know. As you follow these steps, push some buttons and play. If it doesn't turn out quite as you expected, you can hit your back button and try a different step. If you need a step by step walk-through, follow these directions exactly.
Write on a Shamrock

Here's how to write on a Shamrock:
This is all I had to fill in:
Text: Beth
Location: +22+85
Font: Arenski Lengyar
Pointsize: 50
Continue on:
- Press the "annotate" button.
- Press the "Output" tab.
- Select "gif" for format
- Press the "output" button.
- Click on the miniature version of your new image.
- Go to an Uploader.
- Press the Upload button.
Here's what I made:
Notes: I removed the word "blank shamrock" in the Text box before I typed in "Beth."
+0+9 were already in the Location and gravity box. I had to erase them before I put in +22+85.
The +22+85 means that we moved 22
pixels over and 85 pixels down, from the top left corner starting
point. This image is 200 pixels wide. If we moved
over 100 pixels, we would be starting in the middle
of the image.
You can click on the word "Font" to
see the first page of the different font samples. I chose the "Arenski Lengyar Italic" style.
For a larger Pointsize, use a higher number. For a smaller font size, use a lower number. I removed the pre-set size 18 and replaced with size 50.
Do not select gif87 when selecting a format. Go up and select "gif"
If you go directly to any Uploader, your last visited URL will be filled in for you.
Stuff I ignored:
- The "Northwest" menu
- The blank http:// box
- I left the Text color "white"
- The Box color blank
- I left the Density at 96
- I left the angle as straight across 0.0
- I ignored "Storage type:"
Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone. I hope this basic instructional gives you the opportunity to explore and learn. Have fun!
With love from,
Beth Candy
