Construction Zone Locations "Community" is the current Internet buzzword, and there are plenty of places on the Web where you can get home page space! The services below are all "WebTV friendly," with in-page editors so that you can build your own site with your wireless keyboard.

GeoCities The home of the largest collection of WebTV user homesites. Choose a neighborhood that's geared around your interests and the content you plan to put on your site. GeoCities provides 2MB of space for free, or up to 10MB with a GeoPlus membership ($5.00/mo). GeoCities Online Help Guide for WebTV Users Tripod Home of the second-largest collection of WebTV users, Tripod styles itself as a community of under-30's users, but all are welcome and there's no age check. Free sites have 2MB of space, and you can purchase a Triple Premium Membership with 10MB of space and other benefits for $3.00 per month. WebChat Broadcasting System WBS is primarily a chat site, but it also offers free web pages and is the home of about 100 WebTV user homesites. The WBS space is limited -- only about 100K, but it's a good "starter" site if you like to chat there. Angelfire Angelfire used to be a primary site for WebTV users' home pages, but the crash of the Angelfire server in May wiped out all the sites, and revealed that Angelfire does not maintain proper backups. Most of the WebTV users pages have moved (many to GeoCities), but some have rebuilt at Angelfire. Try some others first -- Angelfire's connection seems to run very slowly. SureSite If all you want is a nice looking home page in a few minutes with very little work, check out SureSite -- it's already home to more than 70 WebTV users. Suresite provides the background and main screen graphics that give its pages a very polished look, but there's very little ability to customize your page look beyond the graphics that they supply. Spectropolis A minor site, but a very simple and easy-to-use homepage builder, and the only "free pages" site we've found whose host company is a WebTV PrimeTime Developer.
